Allison Vella

PANELIST
Allison Vella

Allison joined Saint David’s as Admissions Director in 2010 following her oldest son’s graduation. Originally from Atlanta where she attended public school, Allison moved to NYC in 1987. Intending to stay for three years on a job assignment, the diversity and vibrancy of the city made it impossible for her to leave.

Having previously worked in financial services, Allison’s four children inspired her passion for her work in admissions. The journey of finding the right fit for each of her own children entailed a quest for inclusion in many ways – including LGBTQ+ friendliness as well as receptivity to learning differences and physical disabilities. Allison has a deep appreciation for the wide range of schools in NYC and the unique ways in which they are equipped to unlock the full potential of children who are thoughtfully and carefully placed in alignment with their mission, philosophy, and curriculum.
